Will Dholera become India’s Shenzhen?

Dholera the Smart city is developing in Gujrat India. Dholera is situated in the Ahmedabad district almost 40km far from Ahmedabad.

Dholera Smart City is the biggest among the eight industrial smart cities being developed in the first phase of India’s Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) project.

PM Modi wanted to make the city Dholera which would be replica of Shenzhen city of China. This ambitious project aims to create a business-friendly environment, boost innovation, and attract foreign investments, fostering India’s economic growth and global presence.

Dholera, an ancient port city located at the Gulf of Khambhat, is undergoing a remarkable transformation to become India’s mega manufacturing hub and Asia’s largest Greenfield project. Key Features:

1. ABCD building: Dholera will have its own administrative and business tower and the name of tower would be ABCD Administrative and business center for Dholera. The ABCD building will control the whole city. The approval for the business activity will granted from the said building itself.
2. City interlinked with ICD and SCADA: ICD, in the context of transportation and logistics, stands for Inter-City Digital or Inland Clearance Depot. It refers to a facility where customs clearance and inspection of goods take place for shipments that are moving between different cities or regions within a country. SCADA is a system used in various industries to monitor and control processes and equipment. It enables real-time data acquisition, monitoring, and control of industrial processes, such as manufacturing, power generation, and water distribution. Implementing SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) in the ABCD building will enable early reporting of casualties.
3. Solar Park: In the Dholera, government is setting solar park of 4400 MW capacity which will provide electricity to industry and residencies. The solar park will be the largest in the India.
4. CCTV Camera Coverage: The entire city will be equipped with a network of CCTV cameras. These cameras will be strategically placed in public areas, streets, parks, and key locations to monitor and enhance security. The CCTV system will help deter crime, quickly respond to incidents, and create a safer environment for everyone.
5. Free Wi-Fi Access: Dholera Smart City will provide free Wi-Fi coverage across the city. This means residents and visitors will have easy access to the internet on their devices without incurring any charges. Free Wi-Fi promotes connectivity, supports digital access, and encourages a tech-savvy environment.
6. Neural Network: Integration of Dubai’s Neural Network in Dholera Smart City Management: The network can identify the footage of software. That means we can identify the accident happened in the city and sensor will alert to control room.
7. Cutting-edge tracking system: Dholera will implement its own cutting-edge tracking system to ensure law and order in the city. This advanced system will utilize the latest technologies to monitor and track activities, promoting safety and security for residents and visitors.
8. Vast Land Area and Strategic Location: Dholera’s expansive land area provides ample space for industrial, commercial, and residential development. Its strategic location near the Gulf of Khambhat facilitates international trade and connectivity, making it an ideal choice for global companies.

What is Greenfield

Developing a greenfield project involves starting from scratch, without any pre-existing structures or constraints, allowing planners and developers to create a new development tailored to specific needs and requirements. Greenfield projects are often seen as opportunities to build from the ground up, incorporating modern and sustainable practices into the design and development process.

The Union Minister of Commerce has stated that Dholera will transform into the worlds biggest and finest manufacturing hub zone.

Dholera is based on plug in play model. The plug and play model, in the context of smart cities, refers to a modular approach in designing and developing urban infrastructure and services. It involves the creation of pre-designed, standardized, and easily deployable components that can be “plugged in” or integrated seamlessly into the existing urban framework. These components are often based on digital technologies and smart solutions.

It is the best opportunity for the investors. TATA and Airbus are the companies which will get benefit of the plug in play model in Dholera.TATA and Airbus have joined hands to establish a C-295 aircraft manufacturing plant worth 20,000 crores. This collaborative venture will enhance India’s defense capabilities and boost the domestic aerospace industry.

Dholera will finish the India’s over dependency on USA, China and Taiwan for semi-conductor. Dholera will become semi-conductor hub of India. Government is offering incentives for the establishing manufacturing companies of semiconductor.
